About the work

As you enter the tunnel, the very fabric of reality decomposes into millions of fragments that distort and dilute familiar figures - including your own image. Like a passage through a mirage, certainties lose their contour and are remodelled along a reflective journey.

The series is built on the Optical Dissolution Panel, a module of roughly 1,050 small mirrors set at varied angles on each 120 x 120 cm panel. The first chapter used a tunnel of 30 panels; in[visible] II doubled the tunnel to 12 metres and 60 panels, activating 2,500 square metres at Untold Art with around 30,000 visitors in four days.

Conceptually the work draws on Baudrillard’s orders of simulation: it asks where the boundary lies between seeing and knowing, between the visible image and the invisible identity behind it.
